If you know me, then its probably no secret that Dasha and I love Whole Foods Market in Ridgewood. It is not the closest supermarket to Ramsey, nor is it the cheapest.
It actually took some major pushing on my part to get her to go there. At first we would just get some stuff at the little health food store on the side. Inside there is awesome enough, with all sorts of vitamins, greens powders, and natural soaps and shampoos.
Finally we went into the actual Whole Foods store and found some great stuff. Dasha is a vegetarian and she was able to find some vegetarian stuff not located at other stores. This combined with other great stuff is why we keep going back. But there will be more about Whole Foods another time.
Right now lets talk about what we seen on our way into and out of Ridgewood. At the train station it appears there is a small farmers market. We’ve been wanting to go, but had never stopped in. Today was the day however.

We took the train from Ramsey to Ridgewood and were right in the action. Now while it wasn’t a huge event, there were quite a few good stands. We were able to buy some Stone Ground Whole Wheat bread from a local bread place. Pickles from another NJ farm, and jams made by a NJ family. Tell me thats not good for our state and neighbors.
But thats not all. Two of the major sellers were fruits and vegetables. We chose one side for no particular reason and got some delicious cucumbers, potatoes, zuccini, Jersey tomatoes, blueberries, and green peppers. All in all we spent about $25.
If you know anything about farmers markets than you know it doesn’t really get any more fresh than that. Straight from the ground into your body, just the way nature intended. So for now Ill just leave you with the operating hours of the little market next to the Ridgewood station.
