Did anyone catch the issue of Muscle and Fitness Hers with Kim Kardashian on the cover? As I was browsing around the Ramsey CVS I first seen it. I think it was actually the first time I had seen that magazine so I picked up.

I was pleasantly surprised when I found the main article about Kim Kardashian’s training style. It wasn’t the typical slim down high reps avoid getting bodybuilder muscle routines most womens magazines throw at their readers.
She was training with equipment that some might say is ridiculous or crazy! Totally unconventional and out of the box, never would work…or would it?

Why was I so excited by her training style? If you look at the picture to the left you’ll see one item of her fitness equipment regimen. Ropes. Interestingly enough, at GET FIT Boot Camps in Ramsey, we use ropes to burn tons of calories. Ask any of my campers how tough it is to flip those ropes around for 40-50 seconds at a time and they’ll tell you.
But the best part about using these types of exercise tools is that it adds in a completely new and usually unthought of type of exercise. Another thing you see her pushing in the video is a sled, which interestingly enough we also have. Using a wooden floor though we have yet to implement it.
When you go sledding this winter, try pushing around yours or someone elses kids and tell me you don’t feel the burn from that. Each year I push my son Austin up and around the Ramsey High School and its tough.
